Our first Harlow event actually started with me scrolling Instagram.
I came across Pilates N Playdates, and I immediately loved what she was doing.
It wasn’t anything overly complicated. She was creating opportunities for moms to get together, bring their babies and kids, move their bodies, do a little Pilates, and spend some time around other moms.
So I reached out.
I asked if Harlow could join one of her upcoming events and offered to raffle off a couple of our products.
And if I’m being completely transparent, I went into that first event thinking about it the way a new business owner probably would.
Let’s set up the Core Collection. Let’s let moms see the carriers in person. Let’s get Harlow’s name out there a little bit.
So we packed everything up and showed up with our folding table, two clothing racks, and our carriers.
Very official. 😂
But once the event actually started, something shifted for me.
Nobody was really there for us.
And I mean that in the best possible way.
The moms were there to be around other moms.
I remember looking around and seeing moms talking to each other. Babies everywhere. Toddlers running around and playing. People laughing and socializing.
There was this feeling that everyone in that space was in a similar season of life.
Nobody needed an explanation for why you had the baby attached to you. Or why your toddler was running in the other direction. Or why simply getting out of the house for an hour could feel like an accomplishment.
Everyone just kind of got it.
And I found myself genuinely enjoying talking to the moms and watching everyone enjoy being around each other.
That’s the part that stayed with me.
Because I realized Harlow didn’t need to create more opportunities for moms to come look at baby carriers.
What felt worth creating were more opportunities for moms to simply get out and be around each other.
An hour in the sun.
A small workout.
A coffee or some kind of treat.
A conversation with another mom who’s somewhere along the same path.
Nothing groundbreaking.
But when you’re deep in the everyday rhythm of motherhood, sometimes an hour like that can feel really, really good.
Then we started putting together the recap.
After the event, we started going through the photos and videos to put together a recap.
And there it was.
Our folding table.
Our two clothing racks.
And me thinking...
Okay. We have to step this up.

Not because everything suddenly needed to be expensive or picture-perfect.
But because my thinking about why we were showing up had changed.
I started thinking about what little things Harlow could bring to an experience.
Not to change what was already being created, but to add our own little touch of care to it.
Could we make our setup feel a little more special?
Could we collaborate with other mom-owned businesses?
Could we send moms home with something thoughtful?
Could we add one unexpected detail that made the experience feel just a little more special?
It didn't need to be elaborate.
It just needed to feel thoughtful.
I wanted moms to notice those little touches and feel the care behind them. To leave thinking:
They really thought about us.
And suddenly, that folding table wasn't just about wanting a better display.
It made me start thinking about what else Harlow could bring to the table.
Moms supporting moms has to look like something.
We care deeply about the products we put into the world. I wouldn't have started Harlow if I didn't believe we could create a baby carrier moms would genuinely love using.
But I never wanted the carrier to be where our relationship with moms ended.
If we're going to say MOMS SUPPORTING MOMS, then I want that to be something we continue finding ways to put into action.
Sometimes that means supporting the women who are already creating these communities. Sometimes it means saying yes when there's an opportunity to contribute. And sometimes it means dreaming up something completely new together.
The carrier matters.
But so does the community we get to build around it.
That's becoming one of my favorite parts of Harlow.
And I want us to keep earning the right to say we're here for moms.
And it started with someone else’s community.
I’m really thankful Pilates N Playdates let this brand she’d probably never heard of show up to one of her events.
She let us experience a space full of moms and babies where we got to see firsthand what can happen when someone simply creates a reason for moms to come together.
And I’m even a little thankful that folding table drove me absolutely crazy when I saw it in the photos afterward.
Because that first event left me with a completely different question:
What could it look like if we took everything I felt that day and built an entire experience around it?
A space where every detail was intentional. Where moms could move, connect, be taken care of, and walk away feeling like the entire morning had been created with them in mind.

At the time, I didn’t know exactly what that would look like.
Just a couple of months later, we found ourselves actually collaborating on an event this time at a beautiful venue in New Mexico, with matching sets, stakt mats waiting for every mom, and an entire experience intentionally planned around making them feel special.
It was the first time I got to see that little idea from the park turn into something bigger than I had imagined.
And getting from that folding table to New Mexico?
That story deserves its own page. 🤍
